How Does This Work?

We’ve streamlined the video production process to make it simple, efficient, and hassle-free for you. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how everything works:

1. Subscribe and Access Your Portal

Once you subscribe to our service, you’ll gain access to our portal and create an account. This is your central hub for managing video requests and tracking progress. To make things even easier, we’ve created a pre-defined 'Raw Video' Folder where you can upload your footage, and a customized submission form to provide all the key details our editors need. By using these tools, you save time and ensure every request is clear and complete from the start.

2. Submit Your Video Requests

Using the submission form, you can outline your editing instructions, preferred style, captions, motion graphics, or any other specifics. This gives your editor everything they need to begin crafting your video.

3. Receive the First Version

As soon as your video is ready, you’ll receive an email notification prompting you to review the first version. At this stage, you can leave feedback directly within the portal to request adjustments or refinements.

4. Unlimited Re-Edits

We want your video to meet your exact vision, so you can request as many re-edits as you need until you’re fully satisfied. Keep in mind, however, that we work on one video at a time to maintain quality and focus.

5. How We Manage Your Queue

New Requests
: Once a video is delivered for review, we’ll automatically begin editing the next request in your queue.

Re-Edits: If you leave feedback for revisions, re-edits are prioritized over new requests to ensure your video is finalized quickly. This organized queue system ensures smooth progress and minimizes delays.

6. Confirm and DownloadWhen you’re completely satisfied with the final edit, you can mark the video as "Confirmed" in your portal. Once confirmed, the video is ready for you to download anytime at your convenience.

How Does The Editing Flow Work For My Account?

We’ve designed our workflow to keep your projects moving efficiently while ensuring you’re always in control. We focus on one video at a time, but our process ensures there’s no wasted time between edits.

Here’s How It Works:

Submit Multiple Requests

We recommend submitting 2 or more video requests at a time. This allows your editor to seamlessly move on to the next video in your queue as soon as they’ve uploaded the previous one for review. By doing this, you’ll receive your edited videos faster and without unnecessary delays.

Review at Your Own Pace

Once your editor uploads the first video for review, they’ll start working on your next request unless you ask them to wait. This ensures a continuous editing cycle to keep your content pipeline running smoothly.

Perfecting One Video at a Time

If you prefer to tweak and perfect your first video before moving on to the next, just let your editor know. They’ll prioritize your feedback and make the necessary adjustments to your first video before starting on the second. This approach ensures every video meets your exact expectations without compromising efficiency.

Batch Submissions for Maximum Efficiency

For the best experience, submit your video requests in batches. This allows your editor to immediately jump to the next project in your queue, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. By batching your requests, you’ll always have a project in progress, ensuring no time is wasted.

How Can I Submit A Request To Get My Video Edited

Submitting an editing request is simple and streamlined, ensuring your editor has everything they need to deliver high-quality results. Follow these steps to submit your request:

1. Fill Out the Request Form

Start by completing all the necessary details in the request form. This includes:

Video Type: Specify the type of video you’re requesting (e.g., promotional, educational, social media, etc.).

Title: Add a clear and concise title for the project.

Resolution: Select the video resolution you need (e.g., 1080p, 4K).

2. Select Your Brand and Upload Assets

Choose the brand or project the video will be made for. Then, upload all the required footage and assets for your editor. You can upload files directly to your Raw Files Folder or share a link to your preferred cloud storage, such as Google Drive or Dropbox.

‍Compress your files into a single folder (e.g., .zip or .rar) for a smoother and faster download process.

3. Set Specific Requirements

Runtime
: If you need your video to be a specific length, set the desired runtime.

Description or Script: Provide a detailed description of what you want in the video, or attach a script to guide the editing process.

Timestamps: If you have specific points in the footage you’d like to highlight, include timestamps for clarity.

‍Adding timestamps significantly improves turnaround times and ensures your vision is accurately captured.

4. Include Examples for Inspiration

Help your editor understand the style and tone you’re aiming for by providing examples:Share links to previous videos you’ve created, examples from the web, or samples from our video gallery. If you’re including multiple examples, specify which features you like from each (e.g., transitions, colour grading, text animations, etc.).

5. Set Video Priority and Submit

Let us know the priority of your video. If it's time-sensitive, be sure to mark it as a high priority so we can plan accordingly.Once you’ve filled in all the details, click Submit to send your request directly to your editor. Alternatively, you can save your request as a draft for future use if you’re not ready to submit it just yet.

What Kind of Videos Can I Request To Edit?

Here’s What We Excel At:

Talking Head Videos
: Ideal for sharing insights, tutorials, or thought leadership.

Interviews: Turn raw conversations into polished content that captivates.

Tutorials: Make your how-to videos clear, concise, and visually engaging.

Social Media Content: Short, attention-grabbing videos for daily posts or campaigns.

Ads: High-converting ad videos tailored to your brand and audience.

Repurposed Live Videos: Transform your recorded webinars or live streams into polished clips.

Limitations to Keep in Mind:While we’re up for almost anything, there are a few types of projects we don’t take on:

Exclusions: Music videos, wedding movies, and voiceovers.

Do You Recommend A Batch Upload?

You have the flexibility to submit video requests one at a time or in batches, but we highly recommend batching your requests for a more efficient workflow.

Saves Editing Time:

By submitting multiple requests at once, your editor can immediately start working on the next video after uploading the previous one for review. This reduces downtime and speeds up the entire process.

Streamlines Submission:

Submitting multiple requests together saves time compared to uploading and filling out forms for each video individually.

Effortless Duplication:

If your requests are similar and only a few fields need to be changed (e.g., video titles or minor instructions), you can duplicate your submissions. This makes the process even quicker.

Tips for Batching Video Requests:

Separate Requests:
Ensure each video is submitted as a separate request for tracking purposes, even if they are part of a batch.

Provide Clear Instructions: If batching, describe every video in detail or outline your vision. Your editor will split the batch into individual requests for proper organization.

Leverage the Portal: Use our portal tools to streamline the process, such as duplicating similar requests and uploading footage in batches.

My Videos Are Up To 60 Seconds; Can TheyBe Done Quicker?

For shorter requests or those that require less editing, we can deliver them faster. More complex videos may take longer than the general estimates. Less complex videos can be delivered quicker, and you may even receive multiple requests per day.The turnaround time depends on the complexity and details of your requests.

These engaging animations are added by default. Short ads, in particular, will have plenty of engaging elements integrated, often appearing every few seconds.Given the short attention span of viewers, these elements are designed to keep your audience engaged, increase video watch time, and encourage viewers to watch your video all the way through.

Can You Export Videos In 4K & Can The Video Be In 4k?

Yes, we can edit and export 4K video footage with both the Essentials and Growth plans.

Expect potential delays as exceeding the size limit can result in longer download, processing, and rendering times.

Examples: Displaying important messages, statistics, or call-to-actions in a creative, attention-grabbing way.

2. Quotes

Adding quotes as B-roll is a powerful way to emphasize specific statements, whether from interviews, thought leaders, or any other relevant source. We can animate the text or overlay it on footage to make it visually impactful.

Examples: Inspirational quotes, key takeaways, or memorable lines from interviews.

Examples: Walking shots, tracking shots, or capturing movement without shaky footage.

5. Video B-Roll You Provide

If you have any pre-recorded video footage that you would like us to incorporate as B-roll, simply upload it with your request. We can seamlessly integrate your footage into the final video.

Examples: Behind-the-scenes footage, b-roll from interviews, event highlights, or additional content that complements the main video.

6. Simple Animated B-Roll with Graphics

Examples: Animated transitions between scenes, graphics to emphasize ideas, or visual cues to reinforce the message.

7. Stock Footage B-Roll

If you don’t have specific B-roll footage or need additional scenes, we can pull from our collection of stock footage. We have access to a wide range of high-quality video clips that can suit various themes, topics, and moods.

Examples: Stock clips of nature, cityscapes, business environments, lifestyle, or conceptual visuals.

- Emails

However, if no stock videos, audio, animations, presets, or templates are used in your project, or if you provide your own assets, we can send you the .xml or project files since there will be no stock content involved.

These videos aim to capture the attention of your audience by simplifying your message, helping viewers quickly grasp what your brand is offering. Whether it's showcasing a new product, explaining a service, or demonstrating how something works, explainer videos are designed to leave a lasting impression and drive engagement with your brand.

What Do You Need From Me During The Explainer Video Production Process?

To kick off the production of your explainer video, we’ll need you to complete a brief form with key details about your project. Then, we’ll schedule a kickoff call with you and our team to ensure we fully understand your vision and goals. This collaborative approach ensures we’re on the same page from the start.

We’ll also need any assets that can help us visualize your product or service. This could include things like images, CAD files, screen recordings, testimonials, or whitepapers.

These assets help us create a more accurate and tailored explainer video. If you require a video in multiple languages or need localization, we can accommodate that as well.

Throughout the production process, we’ll keep you in the loop and request feedback at every stage. We offer unlimited revisions, so you can ensure the final video aligns perfectly with your expectations.

We’ll guide you through every step, ensuring a smooth and successful video production experience.

What Should We Include In The Explainer Video Script?

Your explainer video script should include the core message you want to communicate, highlighting the main problem your product or service solves and how it benefits your audience. It’s important to keep the language simple and relatable, focusing on clarity and brevity.

Start with a strong hook in the first few seconds to capture attention, and make sure to end with a clear call-to-action. We’ll help you craft the script or work with your existing content to ensure the best outcome.

Can I Use My Explainer Video For Multiple Purposes?

Yes, one of the biggest advantages of explainer videos is their versatility. You can use them on your website, social media, email campaigns, and even in sales presentations. It’s a great tool for driving conversions across various platforms, and we can adapt the video’s format and aspect ratio for different uses, such as vertical videos for Instagram or short snippets for TikTok.

Can Explainer Videos Be Made For Mobile Apps?

For shorter requests or those that require less editing, we can deliver them faster. More complex videos may take longer than the general estimates. Less complex videos can be delivered quicker, and you may even receive multiple requests per day.The turnaround time depends on the complexity and details of your requests.

How Do I Know If My Business Needs An Explainer Video?

In today’s digital age, explainer videos have become a powerful tool for businesses looking to connect with their audience. Most consumers prefer learning about a product or service through a video, as it’s quicker and more engaging than reading lengthy descriptions. If you find that your website or marketing materials are loaded with complex explanations or technical details, an explainer video could be the key to simplifying and clarifying your message.

Relying solely on text may not yield the desired results, and your competitors are likely already using videos to capture attention. Explainer videos make it easier for potential customers to understand your offerings and take action whether it's making a purchase, signing up, or reaching out for more information.

Which Industries Should Use An Explainer Video?

Explainer videos are versatile tools that can benefit businesses across various industries. If you’re in technology, finance (BFSI), or healthcare, these videos are invaluable for explaining complex products, services, or concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. Technology companies can demonstrate how their software works, BFSI can showcase financial products, and healthcare businesses can explain medical procedures or devices.

However, it’s not just tech or medical industries that benefit—explainer videos can also be used to enhance internal communications, employee training, or team collaboration. Any business that wants to engage its audience, educate them, or simplify complicated information should consider using explainer videos.

What Is The Ideal Duration For An Explainer Video?

When it comes to explainer videos, the shorter, the better! While the ideal length depends on the complexity of the message, we recommend keeping your video between 60 to 90 seconds. The first 5-6 seconds of the video are the most critical because that’s when viewers decide whether they want to continue watching. Engaging viewers early with a compelling hook can make a significant difference in retention rates.

more intricate topics, you can extend the length slightly, but always keep your messaging clear and concise to avoid losing the audience's attention.

How Much Does Explainer Video Production Cost?

Typically, our 2D animated explainer videos range between $2,400 and $4,800 depending on the complexity of the animation, video duration, and timeline. While 2D animation tends to be more affordable, 3D animation can be more expensive due to its detailed production requirements.

Our package include key elements like scriptwriting, voiceovers, storyboarding, graphics, animations, and sound effects, ensuring that you get a comprehensive, professional product.

How Long Does Video Production Process Take?

The production time for an animated explainer video can vary based on factors such as the complexity of the animation and video length. On average, the process takes between 4-12 weeks. However, our in-house design team works efficiently to ensure we can manage multiple projects at once. For a typical 60-second animated video, the process usually takes around 3-4 weeks.

Other factors such as the feedback time, revision requests, and the level of detail required can influence the timeline, but we ensure that each project is completed without compromising on quality.

Why Is Animation A Good Choice For Explainer Videos?

While live-action videos have their place, animation offers a unique set of advantages for explainer videos. One of the biggest benefits of animation is the level of creative control it offers. You have the ability to craft every detail of the video from the characters, colours, and setting to the movements and transitions. You’re not limited by the constraints of real-life locations, actors, or expensive production setups.

Animation also allows you to visually explain abstract or complex concepts in a way that live-action simply can’t match. For example, a healthcare explainer video can show how a product works inside the human body; something that would be challenging or impossible to achieve with live-action footage.

How Do You Measure The Success Of A Video?

To gauge the effectiveness of your explainer video, you can track several key performance indicators (KPIs). These include:

Views: How many people watched the video? This is a basic metric but important for understanding initial interest.

Engagement Rates: How long did viewers stay on the video? Did they watch it to the end or drop off early?

Conversion Rates: Did the video lead to more sales, sign-ups, or other conversions?

Viewer Feedback: What are your viewers saying? Positive feedback, comments, and questions can give you insights into the video’s impact.

By analyzing these metrics, you’ll be able to determine whether the explainer video met your objectives and how well it performed compared to your goals.

Tips for Quicker Edits: Schedule a call with your editor to establish workflows and expectations, provide clear, detailed instructions, including timestamps for footage. Organize your files in the portal (e.g., label main videos, b-roll, photos, and logos clearly). Submit only necessary files for the final edit and allow your editor time to adjust during the first week or two; this builds efficiency over time.

1. Why did my editor exceed the estimate?
Your request may involve a larger scope or higher complexity. Your editor will notify you if extra time is needed.

2. Why was my request separated?
Large or multi-edit requests may be divided into smaller tasks for efficiency. Extremely large projects might require separation on your end.

3. Why aren’t my promised videos delivered on time?
Turnaround times are estimates. Variables like scope, revisions, and priority shifts affect timelines. Our editors work on one video at a time to maintain quality.

Should I Provide Timestamps?

Timestamps are time frames that indicate specific parts of your video footage. They help editors know exactly which sections of your video to include or exclude.

Here's an example of how timestamps look:

- File name_1 | 03:00–07:05
- File name_2 | 01:43–04:46
- File name_3 | Full clip If you want to use the entire footage from start to finish, you can simply indicate "full clip" in the Media Footage Timestamps section when submitting your order.

By default, editors will remove stutters, sentence retakes, and pauses unless specified otherwise. If you have additional specific cuts or edits in mind, you can include them in your instructions.

Do I Need to Submit Timestamps?

While submitting timestamps isn’t mandatory, it is highly recommended for faster and more precise editing. Editors will decide on the cuts themselves if you don't share them.

With timestamps: Clear instructions reduce the likelihood of revisions and speed up the turnaround time. You can also provide your editor with additional materials, such as a script.

Music In Your Videos

When submitting a video, you have the option to include music in your video. You can choose whether to add music, select the genre, or leave it up to your editor’s discretion. Below, we’ve outlined how music can be handled for your videos.

Using Music from Wavely's Library

We provide access to a wide range of stock music from our library. This music is pre-cleared for use, which means you don’t have to worry about any copyright issues.

No Copyright Concerns: Our music library is licensed for use in videos, so it is safe and legal for distribution on platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, and social media.

Rare Cases: In some instances, certain platforms might require you to whitelist the video due to platform-specific policies. If this happens, just contact your editor, and they’ll quickly help resolve the issue.

Using Your Own Music: If you have a particular music track you’d like to use in your video, you can upload it during the submission process. However, there are some important points to keep in mind:

- Music License: You must have the proper license or permission to use the track in your video. We cannot take responsibility for any copyright issues that arise from using unlicensed music.

- Copyright Responsibility: If you choose to provide your own music, the responsibility for copyright compliance falls on you. Be sure that the track is cleared for commercial use, especially if you plan to publish the video on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, or other social media sites.

When submitting your video request, simply indicate whether you want music included and, if so, whether you’d like us to choose it from our library or if you’ll provide your own track. If you’re providing your own music, ensure that you have all the necessary rights and permissions. If you have any questions or concerns about using music, don’t hesitate to reach out to your editor for clarification or assistance!
